SUMMARY

Christianity is still the world's most prominent religion, with 33% of people world wide classifying themselves as Christians (More Religious Statistics). Christianity first became a imperial power with Rome's forced conversion in 395 AD. Once Christianity was the sole religion of the Roman People, it unleashed a religious reign of terror previously unseen in the Pagan World. Inquisitions, Crusades, and Witch Burnings plagued Christian lands. Pagan temples were smashed. Any alternative ideology was destroyed (even that of heretical Christians). Throughout the last two millenia, Christianity has spread its reach throughout the world, and eventually became a world power by 1900 AD.

Yet now the Christian hold on world spirituality is beginning to fade.

Church attendance is on the decline. Tolerance of other religious and spiritual ideologies is spreading. Many church buildings are being sold or destroyed because they lack followers.

Culturally, there is an awakening taking place around the world of indigenous and Earth based spirituality.

As the world returns to Earth Based values, Christianity will be subsumed in the flames of an ancient fire.

Yet the return to ancient values will not be a peaceful affair. History is like a spring. It has been bent so far in one direction, that the snap back in the other direction may be just as brutal.
