HESSLER

Hailing from the cruel, windy city of Chicago is the female-fronted, heavy metal quartet known as Hessler. Since their inception, the band has made quite a name for themselves. Their powerful music and energetic, entrancing live performances have establishing Hessler as a key player in today's world of metal. Band members Igz Kincaid (lead/rhythm guitars; vocals), Erik Michael (bass guitar; vocals), and Frankie "Snakes" Sripada (lead/rhythm guitars; backing vocals) were originally accompanied by lead singer Lariyah Daniels, a native of Poland. Hessler released their their first EP in 2011, titled Bad Blood. Following the well-received release, the group toured extensively. In 2012, they played both the Rocklahoma Festival and SXSW.

With a steadily growing fan base and a more definitive sound, Hessler released their first full-length album, Comes With the Territory in 2012 and promoted it on tour in the same year. The band had the honor of joining the SXSW lineup for a second time in 2013, and then returned for another round of Rocklahoma where they played along with big names including Korn, Alice in Chains, and Guns N' Roses. After two years of rocking the scene and picking up speed, Hessler was awarded with the title of "Best Metal Band" by the Chicago Reader for the year of 2013.

Early in 2014, the band announced that Lariyah Daniels would be departing from Hessler permanently to pursue other ventures. Member changes - especially when it comes to the lead singer - aren't usually welcomed announcements by loyal fans, but the transition has generated a lot of positive feedback so far. While fans will have to adapt to the absence of platinum-blonde hair on stage, they shouldn't have a problem getting in tune with the vibrant new sound of Hessler's newest member.

Meet Jessikill, Hessler's new addition. Don't let the cute face fool you - this girl has got some serious pipes, and her voice joined with the talent of Hessler's original musicians is a recipe for rock and roll greatness. A vocalist out of San Antonio Texas, Jessikill recently made the jump to becoming Hessler's front woman after the band announced in January that the original singer, Daniels, would be moving away permanently to pursue other ventures. On February 1st, Hessler hit the studio with their new voice of reason. In a short amount of time, the group produced a new single and accompanying music video with their new singer titled, "Never Lost My Way." The video speaks for itself, but within the first 30 seconds, it's easy to see that the members of Hessler made a wise decision in their new addition.

Before merging with Hessler, Jessikill performed in a band of the same name in her town of San Antonio. After releasing two singles, "Just One Try" and "Metal Knights," the band gained the attention of rockers nationwide. In 2013, Jessikill was nominated for the Best Metal Band and Best Female Performer categories at the SANA Awards (MTV). With a powerful voice and a demanding, ferocious stage presence, it is no wonder how Jessica Espinoza (Jessikill) was nominated for such prestigious awards. She certainly made a name for herself while singing with her original band, and her union with the boys of Hessler is sure to bring great things this year. If the single "Never Lost My Way" is any indication, the world can expect brutally great things from the band in the near future.
