EMBRACE WIND POWER

THE BENEFITS

  • Affordability: Wind is now one of the most cost effective sources of new electricity generation. This is why wind accounts for 35% of all new electricity generating capacity since 2007. Turbine prices and capital costs have dropped drastically in recent years. Not to mention that wind itself is obviously free.

  • Clean and Abundant: America has the wind capacity to produce 37 trillion kilowatt-hours of electricity annually. In English, this means that we have enough wind power on this continent to produce nearly 10 times the country's energy need. Not to mention that wind is a clean source that has virtually no polluting properties or side effects. Each year, wind installations would save the U.S. over 20 billion gallons of water that would otherwise be used for steam or cooling in conventional power plants.
  •

  • Job Creation: According to a report released by the American Wind Association, the wind industry could support roughly 500,000 jobs in the U.S. by 2020 with the proper investment.

  •

  • More Stability: Unlike the volatility we see with the reliance on foreign oil, locally developed wind industry would strengthen natural energy security.
  •

  • Reduce Green House Gasses: Currently, 40% of total Carbon dioxide emissions come from power generation facilities. A substantial amount of gas would be displaced if we pushed for 20% of all electricity generation to be wind powered by 2030.
