THE STATES WHERE HEALTH CARE TO THE POOR IS DENIED

One of the most important provisions of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) is the expansion of health coverage to low-income families through the medicaid program. As of January 2017, 49 states cover children with incomes up to at least 200% of the federal poverty level (FPL) through Medicaid and CHIP (Children's Health Insurance Program). So that is one positive.

Yet the horrifying news of the situation is that there are 19 states that refuse to expand medicaid for poor, single adults. What this means is that there are millions in poverty who are still denied care.
